You might usually associate green with spring and summer, but we’re not talking about those light, bright greens like sage or grass. Instead, we’re talking about the greens that stick around in nature, no matter the weather change. Those deep, forest greens that are found in the evergreen trees that stand out in autumn landscapes against the oranges and browns.

Soft Autumn Colour Palette

If softer tones are more your style, opting for a soft autumn colour palette is not out of the question. In fact, lighter and brighter shades are very much in too. It’s just all about keeping things simplistic whilst carrying the same aesthetic through your entire look. So, don’t start mixing dark and soft together, pick a side and roll with it.

The soft palette comes from the idea of steadiness in the changing seasons. Really, autumn is that transitional period between summer and winter. So, soft tones is all about keeping your aesthetic calming in the turbulence between the seasons… that and it looks good!

Beige:

Bringing beige back for autumn. There’s not another colour that gives cosy vibes quite like beige. It often gets dismissed as a ‘nothing’ colour, but that is a very unfair criticism. Despite being subtle, it can bring an outfit together, setting the tone for you look. It’s minimalist and clean, and for autumn, it can turn your look into something that says ‘cosy’ and ‘chic’ all at once.

And after all, that’s what autumn is all about. Hibernating with hot chocolate, a good book, and blankets until winter and Christmas roll round.

Slate Green:

Now, we’ve mentioned green in the deep tones. But there is still a place for specific shades in a lighter palette too. We’ve been obsessed with slate green. It’s a sort of in-between of grey and green and gives a very natural and authentic feel. Soft enough to lean on those cosy, calming vibes, but with enough of a touch of colour to bring something different to your look. It’s a colour not to be slept on this season.
